About Us
This website is owned and managed by Business & Tourism Creswick Inc., a non profit community group, and is provided for the benefit of our local community and visitors to Creswick.
The group was formed in the early 1970's and with several name changes since that time, it has initiated a number of projects and worked towards the promotion of Creswick and district as an interesting, attractive and safe place in which to live.
Business & Tourism Creswick Inc. is a representative body of community, cultural and commercial interests of Creswick and district.
It aims to build ongoing capacity of the community to determine and direct it own nature, promote and encourage the development of Creswick and surrounding districts for the benefit of the community as a whole, promote a greater understanding of the views, interests and cultural diversity of the community, and raise funds in order to carry out these aims.
Creswick has a long association with the arts, particularly through its former residents, the famous Lindsay family of artists and writers. This group is endeavouring to reclaim this association toward profiling Creswick as an art region.
Currently major projects include the Lindsay's Arts Trail and the Magic Pudding Playground.
Membership is open to any district resident or local business owner. Monthly general meetings are held in Creswick with committee meetings held as necessary. The Hepburn Shire Councillors for Creswick Ward and Hepburn Shire officers attend from time to time.
