The Creswick & District Development Association (CDDA) is a representative body of community, cultural and commercial interests of the Creswick and district. It aims to build ongoing capacity of the community to determine and direct it own nature. It was formed in the early 1970's and has had several name changes since that time. It has initiated a number of projects and worked towards the promotion of Creswick and district as an interesting, attractive and safe place in which to live. Members of the CDDA have always worked towards the promotion of tourism to the area as it will greatly assist businesses and individuals to grow and flourish in an economically viable environment, further enhancing the attractions to the town and surrounding region. Creswick has a long association with the arts, particularly through its former residents, the famous Lindsay family of artists and writers. The CDDA aims to reclaim this association toward profiling Creswick as an art region. The CDDA is committed to providing members with a forum which encourages discussion, the transfer of information and knowledge and offer support and development of the community - vitally important and valuable to the Hepburn Shire as a whole. Membership of the Association is open to any resident of the district. Monthly general meetings are held in Creswick with committee meetings held as necessary. The Hepburn Shire Councillor for Creswick ward is a committee member and various Hepburn Shire officers attending from time to time.
