Moving Creswick Forward
Those attending the Music in the Forest event last month were treated to an afternoon of near perfect weather and great entertainment.
The Creswick Brass Band, Hot Crow, Red Jazz Trio and tenmen demonstrated what fantastic local talent we have here in Creswick. The afternoon was topped of with a delicious BBQ dinner.
Thanks to our MC Dominic Brine, ABC Radio and Parks Victoria for providing the venue.
Special thanks to our sponsors Creswick Community Bank, Novotel Forest Resort, Creswick Pharmacy, Creswick Woollen Mills and Cocoa Chy.
As mentioned in the last edition the launch of the DVD “Creswick and the Lindsays – A living History” took place in the Lindsay Room at The American Hotel on April 19. Kerry I’Anson CEO of Daylesford Macedon Ranges was the guest speaker to launch the DVD.
The DVD shows the establishment of Creswick as a farming community, into the heady days of gold, the influence that the Lindsay family had and recollections from current residents and their families on interaction and memories of all the Lindsay family.
The DVD is available to purchase at the Information Centre, Post Office & Woollen Mills This would make a great gift for family and friends from us lucky ones who live in this great little town.

Fred Icke Memorial Cycle Race
The above cycling event which has been held in Creswick for over 50 years will again take place on Saturday June 2nd. The event is organised by Cycling Victoria and the Ballarat Sebastopol Cycling Club who have advised that between 200 to 250 competitors will be participating and a similar number of supporters.
Registration and car parking will be undertaken at Hammond Park to relieve parking pressure on Albert Street and adjoining business areas.
The junior’s event is scheduled to start at 10.15am and the seniors at 11.00. The races will start in the area adjacent to the Visitor Information Centre and the finish will be in the Napier Street/ Raglan Street precinct. The Creswick Community Bank has been secured as a major sponsor.
Vic Roads are being approached regarding short road closures from the roundabout to the finish and these may occur 11.30 to noon for juniors and 2.15 to 2.45 for seniors.
Business & Tourism Creswick, with assistance from the Committee for Creswick, have arranged for a recital by the Creswick Brass Band, market stalls from the Neighbourhood Centre and a sausage sizzle by the Creswick Lions Club. This has been undertaken to provide activities within the town precinct on the day for the visitors.
Businesses will also be invited to offer potential “incentives” on the day to convey the message that Creswick is great place to visit and encourage a return visit.
