Moving Creswick Forward
February 2010
The matter of membership opportunities for non business related residents was discussed at the February meeting and it was resolved that this is a way that all residents can participate and contribute to the development of their own district.
The CDDA actively represents the area in matters of government liaison, promotion, infrastructure development, improved facilities and business opportunities which benefit both the business and resident sectors.
Annual membership is $30.00 and this ensures that you have the opportunity to be involved in “Moving Creswick Forward.”\
The Buy Local Campaign has been approved for funding and Sue and Naomi Vinden of Cocoa Chy are to be the coordinators of this worthwhile campaign that will be a joint effort by CDDA and Hepburn Shire Council. Business operators will be contacted when final details are received.
The Great Puddin’ Competition is to be held in July and a small sub committee headed up by Sandy Campbell of Persephone’s Café and Garden are busily working on the format and competition guidelines. This is to be a fun event and has the potential to be developed into a major promotional opportunity for Creswick & District. More news to follow next month.

March 2010
The CDDA wishes to thank all those who attended the 6th Annual Lindsay Birthday Dinner held at the American Hotel on February 20. The guest speaker, Robert Littlewood, gave a very interesting presentation which included photographs of the original Lindsay homestead. Robert also presented copies of these to the Creswick Museum. A big thanks also to all the local businesses that provided goods and vouchers for the auction. Approximately $2,500 was raised on the night which will be allocated to the Magic Pudding Playground project.
Local businesses will soon be hearing from Sue Vindin, Cocoa Chy (53451150) regarding the Buy Local Program being conducted in partnership with Hepburn Shire Council. An information pack outlining this promotion is being produced to assist participants to maximise the benefits.
