Creswick - Lawrence Road
In days of rough, unmade roads, transport was difficult and needed access between towns, mining areas and farms. The Birchs' Creek Gorge was bridged in 1898 - 1900, with construction of this concrete bridge with two arches and stone piers by General Sir John Monash and Joshua Anderson. Like the similar Fyansford Bridge near Geelong, Wheeler's Bridge has suffered distress due to movement of the spandrel walls, and is limited to light vehicles.
